While just starting up his sophomore year of high school, Donovan Davis has now picked up his second high major scholarship offer. This follows receiving his first offer back in June for the 6’8” forward of Freedom High School (WI) and Team Herro.
Davis exploded onto the scene in his freshman season averaging 17.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. He led his team in all three categories, on their way to a 23-5 season. The forwards elite play continued into his grassroots season with Team Herro. On the EYBL, he was seventh at the 15U level in rebounding with 8 per game in addition to 8.8 points and 3.1 assists per game.
The first offer for Davis came from Wisconsin. Now during a visit, he has added an offer from Iowa State. “The visit was great,” he said about his trip to Ames. “Me and my family were able to watch one of their practices, got to tour their facilities, meet some of the staff, and take a look at what the players would do in a regular day basis.” When asked about Iowa State, he said “I like how together everyone is like the team and the coaching staff and how they all like trust each other and playing together in their practice.”
Davis currently ranks fourth in the NY2LA 2027 rankings for Wisconsin but is poised to make a jump up in the next edition. He is a unique talent standing a 6’8” in addition to having a well-rounded and advanced skill set. Look for the recruitment of Davis to only greatly build in the coming months with a. versatile game that is made for the next level.
