North Dakota State was able to land a commitment from one of the biggest recruits in the nations 2026 class. This came from seven-foot one Colin Stack of Benet Academy (IL) and Full Package.

The recruitment of Stack to North Dakota State quickly came along over the past couple of weeks. He was just offered by them two weeks ago. The center then made his commitment to the Bison just over a week after receiving the offer. Stack picked them offer his other offers from Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana State, SIUE, UIC, among others.

“I liked a lot about North Dakota State as a whole,” Stack said about his decision. “They give off a very family like vibe, the players didn’t treat me as a recruit but as a part of the team and I loved how the city of Fargo itself, wasn’t that big, it gave off a very home like vibe for me. The facilities they have in Fargo are very good for both football and basketball and the coaching staff was very honest with me and made sure that it was known they wanted me.”

The commitment comes following Stack’s official visit to Fargo. “My visit there was great,” he said about his trip up to North Dakota State. “I really liked the area surrounding the school and liked how the campus had both old and new buildings. The main thing I looked for in a college was somewhere I could get a degree but also develop in terms of my basketball skills. North Dakota State proved that to me, and I also felt like that was the place to go when I visited. I got to see a lot of the upsides of going to NDSU.”

For his future on the court with the Bison, Stack said “They play a very similar style to what my grassroots coach played. They ran actions through the bigs instead of the guards and put the bigs in scoring positions more of the time than not. They also shoot the three a lot and I feel like that’s one of the stronger parts of my game.”

Not only has 2025 been a monumental year in the recruitment of Stack but also his success on the court. This started with helping Benet Academy win a state championship. He followed it up with Full Package in the summer by winning the NY2LA Association championship.
