Tyreek Coleman Adds Another Scholarship Offer

Following a junior season in which he was awarded conference player of the year and third team all-state at Waubonsie Valley High School and a standout spring with the Illinois Wolves, the recruitment of Tyreek Coleman had started to truly develop.

After entering the year without a scholarship offer, the 2025-point guard had added a pair of them. Back in late April, Miami (OH) was the first division one program to offer Coleman. More recently this week, he received an offer from Illinois State following a visit.

“The visit was great,” Coleman first said about his trip to the Normal, Illinois campus. “I really loved the coaches and they’re environment! They were really transparent, did a great job accommodating my dad and I.” When asked if there is anything he likes about Illinois State, he said “I like that they have a lot of senior guards leaving so the opportunity to play is huge and I know that I will have to work for it, but that’s definitely big.”

When regarding the other school to offer him in Miami (OH), Coleman said “I love the coaches, campus, and overall feel. They have been very transparent with me and expressed that they want me!”

While he may only have the pair of offers currently, there are several other division one programs to have shown interest in him. Among them are Belmont, Furman, IUPUI, Le Moyne, Northern Iowa, and Wofford. Following the Illinois State visit, he is planning on taking a visit to Northern Iowa this Thursday.
