TYRAN COOK BREAKS DOWN VMI COMMITMENT

One of the top remaining unsigned seniors from Wisconsin has made their college commitments. Tyran Cook, a 6’2” guard of Waukesha South High School and Team Haliburton, made his commitment to VMI.

The commitment comes after VMI had just offered Cook a week before the commitment. The senior recently took a visit east to VMI. “It was very nice, nice looking campus,” he said about his trip. “A lot of good and genuine people that want to help me become a better person. Smaller campus so I can focus on my craft and get better every day.”

In his senior season Cook was one of the top scorers in all of Wisconsin averaging 24.6 points per game. “I can see myself fitting in a fast pace offense that VMI has very well. It fits my play style perfectly and I feel like me being a good finisher and play maker, I can come in right away and make plays for others and myself at a high level,” he said about his future on the hardwood.

There were several different aspects that came into Cook’s decision in choosing VMI. Amongst them were the coaching staff, chance to help them rebuild their program, and his relationship with their current and incoming players. “With me and the rest of the team of VMI, we have a very bright future.”
