TOP RANKED COOPER FLAGG ANNOUNCES COMMITMENT

The most coveted recruit in the 2024 class has made his college commitment. On Monday morning, Cooper Flagg announced his commitment to Duke.

The 6’8” forward of Montverde Academy and Maine United chose the Blue Devils over his other finalist of UConn. He had just taken a visit to Durham a week prior to this commitment. He had previously taken his official visit to UConn at the end of September. Flagg had also planned a visit to Kansas during the fall but had cancelled that trip. The highly touted and consensus top ranked prospect was also offered by Georgia, Iowa, Kansas State, Michigan, Providence, Texas, UCF, UCLA, Villanova, West Virginia, and others.

Over the course of the spring and summer playing with the Maine United was simply dominant. On the 16U level of the Nike EYBL, he averaged 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 4.5 blocks per game. He led the 16U level in blocks while placing second in both points and rebounding in addition to shooting 55.3% from the field.

After his standout grassroots season, Flagg made the decision to move from the 2025 class up into the 2024 class. With this heading to college a year earlier and making himself eligible for the 2025 NBA Draft where he is already projected as the top pick.

With the addition to Flagg, the top ranked 2024 recruiting class has become even stronger. He joins fellow five-star recruits Kon Knueppel and Isaiah Evans as well as four-star Darren Harris in their recruiting class.
