From a breakout sophomore season which has continued now throughout the spring grassroots season, Colin Julien has developed into one of the top guards in Wisconsin’s 2027 class. This has started to get the 6’3” guard on college coaches’ radars.
In his sophomore season, Julien led Whitefish Bay in scoring with 13.2 points per game while shooting 50% from the field and 38.1% from three. This is in addition to 4.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.3 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game to earn himself third team all-conference honors. This success has continued now into the spring while playing with Chapman Basketball Academy. In the spring season, Julien helped his team to a near perfect record at 23-1. “Our team chemistry continues to grow every single day, and it sets us apart from others. Individually, my Spring has been very successful. I have improved in my ability to finish above the rim, as well as becoming an efficient shooter who is a constant threat from deep,” he said.
When asked to describe his own game, Julien stated “I am a 6’3″ all-around player that can handle the ball, get to the rim and shoot the three very well. I am a leader on both sides of the ball and a very good defensive player getting deflections and able to guard one through five.” All of these tools were on display recently at the NY2LA Midwest Classic where he was one of the top players at the 16U level of the tournament. During the tournament he averaged 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. He also shot 54.5% from three while hitting twelve of them in his four games. This was all in addition to being one of the top defenders of the tournament utilizing his length and quickness.
With the development of his game and his physical tools is turned himself into a scholarship level recruit. Julien is currently being recruited by both mid-major division one as well as division two programs.
