Sekou Konneh Talks DePaul Commitment

Chris Holtmann and the new coaching staff at DePaul continue to make prominent roster additions. As well to some recent additions through the transfer portal, DePaul has landed a commitment from one of the top available seniors in Wisconsin in Sekou Konneh.

The incredibly lengthy 6’9” forward of Saint Thomas More High School and Phenom University made his commitment to DePaul on Tuesday evening. Konneh is coming off a senior season in which he led his team in both scoring and rebounding with 22.6 points and 10.7 rebounds in addition to 2.7 assists on way to a state championship.

“I like the coaching staff,” Konneh first said about choosing DePaul. “Love the campus, amazing place to be.” Some of the other schools to have offered the high upside forward include Indiana State, Louisville, Loyola Chicago, Miami (OH), and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Regarding his future playing for DePaul, Konneh said “They are great guys and it’s an amazing opportunity.”

In Holtmann’s short time at DePaul, in addition to Konneh, he has landed several commitments. These include CJ Gunn from Indiana, NJ Benson from Missouri State, Troy D’Amico from Southern Illinois, Jacob Meyer from Coastal Carolina, David Thomas from Mercer, and Isaiah Rivera from UIC. Another 2024 commitment is Chris Riddle of Kenwood Academy who stuck with his commitment from the previous coaching staff.
