Rhode Island Lands Tim Martin Jr.

Archie Miller and the Rhode Island staff went into Ohio to land one of the state’s most sought-after forwards in its 2026 class. This commitment came from Tim Martin Jr., a 6’8” small forward of Summit Country Day and Nova Village.

Martin picked the Rams over a lengthy list of other offers. His offer list has also included Cleveland State, FIU, Kent State, Miami (OH), and Western Carolina.

“It immediately felt like home,” Martin said about his decision. “The team, the coaches, and the staff all made a lasting impression on me. That sense of connection played a major role in my decision. I believe the program offers the best opportunity for my growth both on and off the court. Rhode Island has an outstanding group of coaches and players, and I’m excited to continue developing my game while contributing to the special culture they’re building.”

The commitment comes after Martin went to Rhode Island earlier this month for his official visit. “I really enjoyed my official visit to Rhode Island. Seeing the campus firsthand and exploring the facilities was a great experience for me and my family. The area around the campus is beautiful, but what stood out most was the chance to connect with the coaches and players in person. I was able to have meaningful conversations with the players about their experiences and get all of my questions answered by both them and the coaching staff.”

When asked about his future playing for Rhode Island, Martin said “I feel like my game will fit well in their offense and defense. Defensively, I can guard multiple positions in the half court. Offensively, I can use my athleticism to play up tempo in transition. I feel like my skill set will allow me to fit into any role at the wing position that the coaches want me to play.”
