Recruitment Of Takis Tyler Flying Under The Radar

Whether it has been with Jay Academy or Milwaukee Juneau, Takis Tyler has continued to play at an extremely high level. He has continued to prove he is one of the most dynamic point guards in Wisconsin’s 2026 class. Even with this his recruitment has been limited for a player of his skills.

In his junior season at Milwaukee Juneau, the 6’0” point guard averaged 16.9 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.4 steals per game. He then only elevated his game during the grassroots season with Jay Academy. This included being one of the top five scorers on the Adidas 3SGB during the first three sessions with 25.2 points per game. Then in the summer he was one of the top scorers at NY2LA with 15.5 points per game at the Final Chapter tournament while also being able to average 4.3 assists. “My season with Jay Academy was a lot of fun getting to know new people and improving my game on the Adidas Gold and NY2LA circuit,” Tyler said.

Right now, Tyler is seeing interest from several division three and junior college programs. These include Iowa Central, Lakeland, Lawrence, UW-Superior, and Wisconsin Lutheran. With his great playmaking ability, Tyler should be seeing interest from plenty of more programs. He is an incredibly quick with the ball in his hands to be highly effective scoring and distributing on the attack playing in traffic but can also create his own shot from the outside.

“Good coaching,” is the first thing Tyler said he is searching for in his future college. “Going to push and encourage me to be better. Good culture, a program that wants to win and get better day in and day out. A team that wants to play fast. A coach that wants me in the program for me to play my game.”

Next up for Tyler in his season, he is looking to win a state championship while leading his team to an undefeated season.
