As well to the start of the high school season, plenty of recruitment news to check up on from the region in addition to all the signings.
Kentucky was able to land a commitment from one of the top juniors in the Midwest. This came from Maddyn Greenway of North Tartan and Providence Academy (MN). Kentucky was able to beat out her other finalist of Clemson, Duke, Iowa, Stanford, and UCLA.
A commitment out of Chicago came from senior Icesis Thomas of Kenwood Academy who picked Tennessee State. She had also been offered by LIU, Roosevelt, UNC-Pembroke, and Buffalo.
While on a visit to Eastern Illinois, junior guard Emma O’Brien of Lyons Township High School and the Illinois Lady Lightning received an offer. She was also offered by Loyola Chicago and Harvard over the summer.
From Grafton High School (WI) and Chapman Basketball Academy, senior Marissa Morgan has committed to Loras College.
6’1” Junior Heidi Rathmann of Antioch High School (IL) and Full Package has been offered by University of Portland.
From the Michigan Storm program, senior guard Emily Walker has committed to Bentley University.
Another commitment from a Michigan Storm senior was from Maddy Benard who will be staying in-state at Wayne State.
It was a big week of commitments out of Michigan. One coming from the Michigan Crossover program was from Breasia Gamble-Jones who selected Madonna University.
Ava Petersen, a senior at Lake County Lutheran and Wisconsin Academy, has committed to Aurora University.
Another commitment to a division three program in Illinois was from McKenna Delaney. The senior of Minooka High School (IL) and Team M14 has committed to Illinois Wesleyan.
Ady Kircher, of OPS Basketball and Northeastern High School (IN) has received an offer from Miami University Hamilton.
Out of Wisconsin, 2025 Rayna Welsch of Eau Claire Memorial High School and the Wisconsin Playmakers will be headed out west with her commitment to Colorado College.
