Recruitment Heating Up for Michael Wilson

From his junior season and now through the spring grassroots season, Michael Wilson has started to appear on plenty of college coaches’ radars. This includes receiving the first scholarship offer for the 6’3” guard.

In his junior season at Madison West, Wilson averaged a staggering 23 points per game in addition to 7 rebounds. With this, he was able to earn honorable mention all-state honors from the WBCA. This high level of play has continued into the spring while now playing with the Wisconsin Playmakers.

“My spring with Playmakers has been great it’s a great organization with a lot of good players around me and I hope to finish strong with them.” At the NY2LA Spring Extravaganza, New Balance P32, NY2LA Midwest Classic D2 Showcase, Wilson helped the Playmakers to undefeated 4-0 records at each of the three tournaments. At the Spring Extravaganza, he was named second team all-tournament. Then at the Midwest Classic D2 Showcase he averaged 10.7 points while shooting 60% from the field by the powerful two-way guard.

It was following the NY2LA Spring Extravaganza tournament where Wilson picked up his first offer. This came from Northern Michigan University. “Getting an offer from Northern Michigan was good and hopefully more start to come in,” Wilson said on picking up the offer. When talking about them, he stated “I love the connection the coaches have with all of their players.”

As well to the offer from the division two program, he is also appearing on the radars of multiple division one programs. Amongst these are Central Michigan, Illinois State, and St. Thomas.
