In just the past few days, a pair of seniors from the MTXE program have announced their college commitments. These commitments came from 6’8” forward Daniel Cleary of Lake County Lutheran High School and 6’5” wing Zach Froemming of Kettle Moraine High School.
Cleary announced his college commitment to UW-River Falls. “I really love the way Coach Berkhof interacts with his players and how well he uses and develops his bigs,” Cleary first said on his decision. “I also really liked their facilities and being able to play against top competition in one of the best division three conferences in the nation. The location of River Falls is also great, it has a smaller town feel and has a nice community around it while it’s only thirty minutes away from the city Minneapolis.” He was being recruited by numerous other division three programs including Concordia Wisconsin, St. Norbert, UW-Eau Claire, UW-Whitewater, Wisconsin Lutheran, among others.
St. Norbert was able to land a commitment from Froemming. St. Norbert was able to beat out Carroll, Concordia Wisconsin, Judson, Rockford, UW-Superior, Wisconsin Lutheran, and others who were all recruiting him. “The main reasons I chose St. Norbert were because of the great coaching staff they have there, they are an overall winning program with great development, and I really feel like it’ll set me up in terms of education and out of college,” Froemming stated.
Cleary and Froemming mark the second and third commitments from MTXE in just the past few weeks. Senior Roman Thompson also made his commitment, choosing UW-Eau Claire.
