After being one of the top players on the NY2LA Association this spring, it has paid off for Jax Abalos. The 6’7” rising senior wing of Batavia High School (IL) and Team M14 Hoops has added another division one offer for himself this week.
The newest division one offer for the hot shooting wing came from North Dakota. “I really enjoyed talking to their coaches on the phone…really friendly on the phone and I can’t wait to go out on a visit to meet the team and the rest of the staff,” Abalos said about what he likes about North Dakota.
As well to the North Dakota offer, Abalos was previously offered by both Bryant and Eastern Illinois. Additionally, there have been several new schools who have started showing interest in him during the spring. Amongst the lengthy list includes Hillsdale, Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan, Penn, and UW-Parkside.
With the help of Abalos, Team M14 Hoops had a 3-1 record during the live period back in May at the NY2LA Next Level Invitational. “This AAU season is going pretty well so far, we’re a new team but we’ve gotten used to each other really quickly. Every tournament we keep getting better. I’ve also been lifting a lot and I’ve gained about 15 pounds since my last high school season.”
Up next in his recruitment, the rising senior is planning on taking visits to both Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan.
