After having a few stars last year on the NY2LA Association, Chapman North Basketball Academy will be a part of the inaugural Platinum Elite for the 2025 season. Their 2026 group currently has players who are being recruited by all levels of colleges.
Their 17U team will be led with their star backcourt consisting of Kayden Schultz, a 6’3” guard of Plymouth High School and Cade Dirkse, a 6’2” point guard of Oostburg High School. Not only does Schultz have a pair of division two offers for himself coming from Michigan Tech and UW-Parkside but also strong interest from several division one programs. Even as just a sophomore last season, he won unanimous Player of the Year honors in the East Central Conference in addition to honorable mention all-state honors from the WBCA. Now in his junior season, he has continued to up his game as he is averaging 28.7 points with 7.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists. Plus, he has already scored over 1,500 points in his high school career to become the all-time leading scorer at Plymouth. Dirkse is another player who has earned themselves Player of the Year honors in their conference as a sophomore. He is an incredibly gifted all-around player with his true point guard skills and ability to lead an offense with 6.4 assists per game, standout defensive play, and versatile scoring ability having already hit the 1,000-point mark and averaging 21.6 points currently.
The recruits for Chapman North go much further than just Schultz and Dirkse as they also have a few other players who are receiving college interest. Included in this group is Jamison Zavatchin, a 6’4” wing of Oostburg High School. The physical wing has won back-to-back first team all-conference honors and has also passed the 1,000-point milestone. Another wing for them is the 6’5” Brennen Hackbarth of Sheboygan Lutheran High School. He is a lengthy wing with a good ability to play both inside and on the perimeter who has already won all-conference honors twice. One more member of this core group is Cal Loose, a 6’1” guard of Port Washington High School. Not only is he averaging 13.7 points highlighted by his outside shooting ability hitting 45.6% of his three pointers but is also a tenacious perimeter defender.
The core of this Chapman North team has been playing together for the past five years. During their high school years as a team, they have a winning percentage north of 82%. Expect college coaches from all levels to be on the sidelines for their games over the next several months.
