Another group of well deserving top performers from this past weekend in Aurora, Illinois.
Curtis Britton IV – 2026 – G – D Rice Elite
While one of the biggest, if not biggest, stock boosters of the tournament, he was also one of the top players of the tournament. This included a 29 point game by the guard and he was a big reason why D Rice Elite went 4-0. Not only does he have a high skill level but also showed off his athleticism with multiple dunks including a put back slam as well to his tough on ball defensive play. The guard can really fill it up from the outside hitting four threes in a single game. While I have continued to be impressed by the game of the 6’2” guard over the past couple of years, he was playing on another level throughout this tournament.
Aidan Clark – 2026 – G/F – I AM 3
It was my first time getting to see the highly touted Clark out of Oklahoma and he did not disappoint. Already a highly impactful player, the wing has great upside with all his tools. He stands at 6’6” on the wings, has good length and athleticism, plus a versatile skill set. In an overtime victory Saturday, he led the way with 16 points scoring with his jumper, as a slasher, as well as a key basket in the final seconds posting up to send the game to overtime. This is in addition to his defensive play locking down multiple positions. Clark is a popular target with division one programs and will be at the NY2LA Summer Jam this upcoming weekend.
Marcus Johnson – 2026 – G – Mercury Elite
After putting up some large point totals at the NY2LA Spring Extravaganza tournament this spring, he took it to another level this tournament while averaging 30 points per game. He scored 34 points in his first game of the tournament while hitting five threes and collecting nine rebounds and continued to put up big numbers. This included a 39 point game to finish off the tournament on Sunday. Johnson also showed the ability to run the point and create off the dribble with a confident pull up jumper from all over but with his knockdown outside spot up shooting is also very effective playing off the ball. More than a scorer, Johnson also played with good energy on the defensive end on the ball and in the passing lanes forcing turnovers. He needs to be on college coaches radars this upcoming weekend at the NY2LA Summer Jam.
Hassan Makki – 2026 – SF – Michigan Warriors
A new name on my radar that greatly impressed with his combination of skills and physical tools. As well to being 6’6” with some strength, Makki has a well-rounded game. He can do so much on the floor helping the Warriors to an undefeated tournament. At his size, he moves extremely well with the ball on the attack but can also use his physicality to the rim and shoot the three to be a matchup problem. Makki also showed his ability to defend multiple positions effectively.
Noah Maniscalco – 2026 – PG – Wisconsin Legends
Along with his teammate Jack Bookter, Maniscalco also gets included as a top performer from this tournament. He has been one of the biggest stock boosters in Wisconsin’s 2026 class in recent months and one of the more skilled scorers. His scoring ability was evident all tournament including a 22-point game helping the Legends to a 4-0 tournament. He really excels in his role as a knock down spot up shooter, running the point, and was also rebounding it well as a guard.
Owen VanderWaal – 2026 – PF – WM Premier NY2LA
There are few players over the past couple of years at NY2LA to be as consistent as VanderWaal. He played at a high level throughout the tournament helping his team to a 3-1 record while averaging 19.5 points per game scoring it very efficiently around the paint on cuts, posting up, put backs, and transition running the floor hard. The forward stands at 6’7 but also has continued to add to his game to have a well-rounded skill set. He is an active forward with some mobility at 6’7”.
Jamison Zavatchin – 2026 – SF – Chapman North
Zavatchin has continued to impress this season with Chapman North. He did a lot throughout the tournament which included scoring 22 points in one of his games. With his strong build he can be very effective down in the post but also does much more with his energetic play and toughness. Listed at 6’3” he plays a lot bigger down in the post scoring over taller defenders with good moves or going right through them as well as being an incredibly aggressive rebounder. Zavatchin can also play out on the perimeter handling the ball, hit outside jumpers, and passes it well too.
