One last piece of my coverage from the 17U level of the NY2LA Final Chapter. 16U division up next.
Darlin Aghomi – 2026 – C – Attack
At 6’10”, Ahgomi is certainty a very intriguing and extremely high upside big man. While still developing he was still able to make his impact in a variety of ways. His biggest impact comes at the defensive end as he is very mobile at his size locking down the entire paint maneuvering it so well plusaggressively attacking the glass. He also showed some flashes on offensive including scoring with his back to the basket and was running the floor hard to get some transition baskets.
Gavin Anderson – 2026 – SG – Hoops4Health
Anderson is an incredibly lengthy wing guard who has good positional size at 6’4” and proved to be a highly impactful player in multiple games. Whether it was with his scoring, rebounding, defense, or whatever else was needed of him, Anderson was getting it done. He is an extremely active rebounder as a guard and matched up effectively versus some post players using his energy and length but defends well on the perimeter too. He scored it very efficiently on the attack getting it done both on drives and cuts using his length to finish amongst size.
Jaymon Hornsby – 2026 – PG – Meanstreets National
Hornsby is very quick and shifty point guard that is so difficult to stick with. He was often breaking down his man and getting into the paint to create. He scored it well throughout the tournament reaching double digit points in multiple games but also distributed it well with his vison and passing on the move. Plus, he also rebounds the ball very well as a guard.
Tyler Hunter – 2027 – F/C – Michigan Playmakers
Even while playing up a level, Hunter is a very imposing figure out on the floor. He stands at 6’9” with a very strong build. Even while often drawing double teams inside on any touch, Hunter still showed his ability to score the ball posting up. The big man was just backing down defenders with his physicality and finishing right through or over them. Easy to see why he has already picked up a few division one offers.
Latrell Kelly – 2026 – PG – AR Elite
Kelly was one of the top scorers of the tournament with multiple twenty plus point games to get AR Elite an undefeated tournament. The point guard plays quick with the ball as well to good moves to be consistently beating his man off the dribble. For his size, he finished it very effectively all around the paint as a crafty finisher. Kelly is a good playmaker with the ball as he also showed a good ability to hit shots off the dribble from the outside.
