2025 6’7 Dietrich Richardson – MidPro Academy 17U NY2LA
Dietrich Richardson has a chance to be a special player. Of all the prospects I watched at Swish N Dish I feel comfortable saying Richardson has the highest ceiling. You won’t find many prospects nationally who move the way he does at 6’7 – with the handle, quickness and wiggle to be a primary ball handler and playmaker. Richardson had some elite flashes in the games I watched, able to break defenders down off the dribble, create for teammates, finish at the rim and knock down pull up jumpers off the midrange. His size and length make him a versatile defender, able to guard smaller guards as well as bigger more physical wings. Richardson holds high major offers from Illinois, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech, and I expect that list to grow this spring.
2025 6’2 Myles Herro – Team Herro 17U EYBL
I have watched Myles Herro play a lot of basketball over the past 3-4 years and came away very impressed with his play and continued development as part of a talented Team Herro 17U group. Herro looks to have gotten bigger since last summer and was one of, if not the best, pure Point Guard in the event. He looked confident all weekend with the ball in his hands – handling full court pressure, breaking defenders down off the dribble to get paint touches and orchestrating the offense in the half court. I liked the pace Herro played with in ball screens – under control and knowing when to change speeds – and he has a smooth midrange jumper and some crafty finishes around the basket. Herro looked the part of Division 1 guard and I expect his recruitment to expand big time this spring on the EYBL.
2026 5’11 Lamont Hamilton – Power 5 16U 3SSB
Lamont “Doodie” Hamilton is an elite competitor. He plays with a ton of passion, is constantly in attack mode and was one of the most intense defenders I saw at Swish N Dish. In a matchup with Team Herro EYBL on Friday night Hamilton was the best player on the floor in front of a standing room only crowd, finishing with 30 points in a win for Power 5. When Hamilton gets downhill to his left hand there’s nothing you can do to stop him as he’s able to explode to the rim and finish through contact or stop on a dime for mid-range jumpers. Hamilton doesn’t have elite size, but he has special intangibles that you can’t teach, and simply put, the kid is a winner.
2026 6’3 Deuce Burkes – Team Herro 16U EYBL
Deuce Burkes was electric for Team Herro EYBL on Sunday helping lead his team to the 16U platinum championship. Burkes has a non-stop motor and left everything he had on the floor – including fighting through cramps down the stretch of the championship game matchup with Power 5. Burkes is a big time shot maker, can create his own offense, make jumpers off the dribble and in catch and shoot, and plays with elite pace with the ball in his hands. In a final 4 matchup with Midwest Renegade which was one of the best games of the weekend, Burkes put his team on his back in the second half to secure the win, finishing with 26 points and some clutch buckets.
2026 5’10 Torrence Tate Jr – Midwest Renegade 16U NB
Swish N Dish was the first time I had watched Torrence Tate Jr of Midwest Renegade and by the end of the weekend he was one of my favorite 2026 prospects I saw. Don’t let his size fool you at 5 ’10, Tate was impossible to stay in front of, can finish over and around bigger defenders at the rim, knocked down jumpers and is a great on ball defender – constantly harassing opposing ball handlers. Tate was the catalyst for Midwest Renegade as they advanced to the Final 4 where they gave Team Herro EYBL all they could handle before losing a close one in a high intensity matchup.
2025 6’0 David Bolden – Power 5 17U 3SSB
David Bolden flies a bit under the radar at times as part of a talented Power 5 group, but he is the glue that keeps it all together and was one of the top floor generals I saw over the weekend. The first thing that stands out when watching Bolden is his competitiveness. He picks up full court defensively, plays with high energy and has the intangibles you want to see that translate to wins. Bolden handled the ball, got his team into their half court sets, showed leadership and also can go get a bucket when he needs to – hitting some big shots down the stretch in a high level Final 4 matchup with Illinois Wolves. D2 schools in the Midwest should be all over Bolden and wouldn’t be surprised to see him get some low to mid major looks this year on Adidas 3SSB circuit.
2025 6’1 Isaiah Mellock – 24Up 17U UA Rise
Isaiah Mellock had one of the most eye-opening performances of the weekend for 24Up 17U in a matchup with WI Playmakers on Saturday. 24Up dropped a close one but Mellock scored a game high 28 points and had his best game I have seen in person. Mellock handled the ball at a high level, created for teammates, and was able to get his – attacking the rim, knocking down jumpers off the dribble and getting out in transition. Mellock is a strong on ball defender with good lateral quickness and is a prospect D2 schools in the Midwest should be tracking this spring and summer.
