Milwaukee Lands Stevie Elam

UW-Milwaukee and head coach Bart Lundy went into Michigan and landed one of the top players in its 2025 class. This came via a commitment from Stevie Elam, a 6’2” guard of Adrian High School and The Academy.

Last year on the NY2LA Association, Elam was the MVP at the 16U level. He chose Milwaukee over his other offers coming from Ball State, Cal Poly, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), and others. Milwaukee has offered the athletic scoring guard back in July.

There were plenty of factors both on and off the court that played a role in the decision of Elam. “I have been so invested in this program for lots and lots of time and in how hard the guys work and how determined and motivated to win the team is. I’ve always been a winner, and this program is the perfect place for me to be. The coaching staff believes in me and knows how great that I can be and knows that I will continue to work hard. Great coaching staff and great people to be around. The culture at UWM is just something that stood out to me. Me and the coaches have been building a relationship for a long time now and finally got the chance to see the university and area of Milwaukee. It’s honestly beautiful there, the city is amazing and the campus so nice,” he said on his selection.

The commitment came just a week after Elam took a visit to Milwaukee last week on the tenth and eleventh. “As soon as I stepped on campus my heart knew where home was. The atmosphere was amazing. Facilities are very nice, and the panther arena is just next level. The players and coaches were great, and they made me feel wanted there.”

UW-Milwaukee is coming off back-to-back season in which they won twenty plus games. “From a guard’s standpoint I see my game really thriving in coach Lundy’s offense and making that jump to the next level,” Elam said about his future suiting up for the Panthers. “I love how he plays fast, and I see myself fitting in perfectly. He trusts me and I have tons of trust in him and the coaching staff!”
