Senior Luke Westerdale has announced his college commitment to a division two program. The 6’1” guard of Gabriel Richard High School and The Academy program will be staying in Michigan with his commitment to Wayne State.
The commitment comes after Westerdale was offered by Wayne State last month. Another division two program, Ferris State, had also offered him back in September. The senior initially visited the Detroit school back in December. He then also visited there this Tuesday, which he called an awesome visit. At the end of this most recent visit, he decided to make his commitment saying, “loving everything I saw.”
“I really love everything about Wayne State,” Westerdale said on why he made his pick. “The coaches are great, the school is awesome and my family really loves it.”
When asked about his future suiting up for Wayne State, Westerdale said “I see me fitting in very well, Coach Smothers has great visions for me to fit in the offense and I am very excited.” Wayne State is landing a highly talented scorer and shot maker. Over the past three years, he was one of the top scoring guards on the NY2LA Association while playing with The Academy.
