At the end of October, Luke Westerdale took a visit to Purdue Fort Wayne and now this past weekend he took one to Toledo. This follows after the 6’1” 2025 guard of Gabriel Richard High School and The Academy visited Columbia University back in the summer.
“My visit to Toledo went great,” Westerdale said about his most recent visit. He visited the MAC school for their game against Ball State in which he said, “the atmosphere was really cool.” Toledo has been showing interest in him since the end of the grassroots season in the summer. When asked if there is anything he likes about them, he said “I love how close the school is to my family and how nice the gym is.”
Going back to his visit to Purdue Fort Wayne, Westerdale said “I loved it, really nice school. I love the school and love the play style of the team.” In addition to the visits, he has also received interest from Eastern Michigan, Lake Superior State, Saginaw Valley State, Western Michigan, and others.
Over the past couple of years, Westerdale has been one of the top 2025 guards on the NY2LA Association. This includes being the offensive player of the year back in 2022. Now into his junior season, he is averaging 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists per game to have helped Gabriel Richard High School to a 9-1 record currently. “The main goal is to win a ring, we aren’t focused on the rankings… we definitely have the team to accomplish it,” he said looking ahead into the rest of this season.
