Luke Westerdale Gets First Scholarship Offer

Over the weekend, one of the top scorers in Michigan’s 2025 class received his first scholarship offer. 2025 6’1” point guard Luke Westerdale of Gabriel Richard High School and The Academy was offered by Ferris State.

“It feels great,” Westerdale said about receiving his first offer. “I have had a lot of school reaching out and it’s awesome to finally get that first one.”

The offer for Westerdale came on a visit to the in-state division two program. “The visit to Ferris was very fun,” he first said about his trip. Adding in, “There was a lot to do and receiving the offer felt good too.” When asked about his thoughts about the school, he said “I loved the atmosphere of the football game along with many more things.”

In addition to the Ferris State visit, he also took a visit to Cornell last month. Some of the other schools recruiting him include Hillsdale College, Michigan Tech, among others.

During the grassroots season, Westerdale was one of the top scorers on the NY2LA Association. During the summer he had multiple thirty-five plus point games, including scoring 45 points in a single game.
