From his play with Hersey High School (IL) and Full Package over the past year, 6’3” Logan Luxem has gotten himself onto the radar of plenty of college coaches. He has emerged as one of the purer point guards in Illinois’ 2026 class.
In his junior season at Hersey, he was one of the distributors in the area while averaging 6 assists per game. This play continued into the grassroots season as he was the floor general behind the Full Package team who captured the NY2LA Platinum Elite championship. His distributing ability was evident throughout the summer as he averaged 6.8 assists at the NY2LA Final Chapter tournament and then the next weekend averaged 6.5 assists in their championship run at the Summer Jam tournament. “My season with Full Package was great. We did great as a team and I got a lot better throughout the season. We finished the season on a great note winning the final NY2LA tournament,” Luxem said.
As well to having good positional size at the point standing at 6’3”, Luxem has a high level of point guard tools for the next level. In addition to his distributing ability, the playmaker also plays strong with the ball, has a high IQ, and can also shoot it off the dribble.
Luxem has been generating interest from plenty of division two and three level programs. Amongst these are Augustana, Hillsdale, Michigan Tech, Minnesota State Moorhead, Missouri S&T, St. Norbert, Trine, and UW-Platteville. While he has yet to take any visits, he has a few planned. These include trips to a few of these previously mentioned schools in Augustana, St. Norbert, Trine, and UW-Platteville.
In the hunt for his future basketball home, Luxem is looking for a few different things on the court. “A school where I have an opportunity to play my freshmen year,” he first said. “A school where I like the coaches and the school fits my style of play. A school where I know I can get better as a player so I can have an opportunity to play at the highest level possible.”
