Kobe Walker Adds Division One Offer

Following his play at the recent NY2LA Next Level Invitational Tournament during the live period, Kobe Walker picked up a division one offer for himself. The 6’10” 2025 post of MidPro Academy and Normal Community High School (IL) was offered by Western Illinois University.

“They have known about me for a while,” Walker said about his recruitment from Western Illinois. “They really liked what they saw from me at the live event. I like the coach that offered me (Kyle Heikkinen). When I spoke with him he seemed like a good coach and I’m trying to build a relationship with him.”

Last summer, Bryant was the first division one school to have offered Walker. Other division one programs currently recruiting him include Cal Poly, Eastern Illinois, North Dakota State, and South Dakota.

Walker has been one of the breakout players on the NY2LA Association during the spring season. “I felt like the spring went good for me I’ve definitely grown as a player since last year. I’m more mobile my body is better, and my game has developed, I also felt like I was able to help my team when they needed it. I want to win games so whatever my teammates need me to do I will do it.”

For the June live periods, Walker and Normal Community High School will be playing at the Midwest Crossroads Showcase. As well, the rising senior is looking to take some college visits in June and July.
