One of the guards who should draw plenty of attention from college coaches this spring and summer on the NY2LA Platinum Elite is Braylon Frantz. The 6’1” point guard of St. Clair High School (MI) will be playing with the Reach Legends.
In his junior season, Frantz earned himself MVP honors in the MAC Gold Conference. “My junior season went well even though we ended up losing in regionals,” Frantz said. To earn the MVP honors, he averaged 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists per game for St. Clair in a 19-6 season. He did this while shooting 51% from the field and 45% from three.
“I can create for others because I’m a threat to score. Quick and explosive but they have to respect my shot,” Frantz said when describing his own game. He is a proven scorer having already hit the 1,000-point career mark in his junior season. Not only can he shoot the ball from the outside but also is a skilled playmaker on the attack. He has a well-rounded skill set which he showed this past season by scoring 39 points in a single game but also having games of double-digit assists. Additionally, Frantz is also a bouncy guard.
With all his abilities, he has started to appear on the radar of some college coaches. While he has yet to receive an offer so far, he has drawn the interest of coaches from multiple levels, mainly on the division two level. A couple others teaming up on the 17U Reach Legends with Frantz in the upcoming grassroots season are 6’4” point guard Cole Charter, 6’2” guard Alex Jamison, among others.
