After a breakout grassroots season with the Michigan Playmakers, Joshua Gibson is close to announcing his college commitment. The newest part of his recruitment was adding another division two scholarship offer this past weekend.
The newest offer for the senior 6’2” point guard came from Alabama Huntsville. “I liked the way Coach Hedgepeth ran practice, and the facilities and campus were great. I also fit in very well with the guys and felt like the support in the community was very strong,” Gibson had to say about the newest school to offer him. Alabama Huntsville had just started recruiting him earlier this month.
When Gibson entered this past summer, he did not have a single scholarship offer. Following standout performances both the NY2LA Summer Jam and Final Chapter tournaments, this quickly changed. Rockhurst University was the first to offer him and he has since also added offers from Lake Superior State, Ferris State, and Northwood.
With his several scholarship offers, Gibson is nearing in on his college commitment. He is planning on making his decision this week. He has taken visits to Alabama Huntsville, Ferris State, and Northwood.
