Jensen LePla Making Noise In Sophomore Season

With both Goodrich High School (MI) and D Rice Elite, the LePla brothers have found plenty of success on the court. First up was Parker who is finishing up his high school career and will be headed to University of Indianapolis next season. Now up is his younger brother, Jensen who has been shining in his sophomore season.

Currently in his season at Goodrich, the younger LePla is averaging 19.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. His game has only continued to grow over the past few weeks as he gets deeper into the season and returned from an injury with multiple thirty plus point games recently. This includes a career high 38-point game. “Make it to Breslin for the final four and get all state first team,” he said about his goals for the rest of the season.

Going back to his last grassroots season with D Rice Elite, not only was he one of the top players on the NY2LA Association at the 15U level but also found plenty of success playing up as well. “Shooter and slasher,” LePla first said when describing his own game. He also mentioned his ability to play above the rim. He is a wing guard with good size at 6’5” in addition to a well-rounded skill set. The sophomore has consistently shown a good jumper from the outside as well to being able to use his physicality effectively and make an impact in a variety of ways.

With his play on the court and abilities, LePla has started to appear on the radar of college coaches as his recruitment his starting off. As one of the top sophomores in all of Michigan, look for him to be a popular name with college coaches especially when they can reach out directly to the 2027 class in a few months.
