JEHVION STARWOOD TALKS FIRST OFFER

One of the newest players to receive their first division one offer is Jehvion Starwood. The 6’3” guard of Oswego East High School (IL) added the offer from Miami University (OH) following his play with the Illinois Wolves this spring.

Before his strong season with the Illinois Wolves this spring, Starwood averaged 11 points, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game for Oswego East to help lead them to a 30-6 record on their way to a sectional championship. He has continued that into the spring averaging 9.1 points for the Wolves helping them to a 7-2 record during the first two sessions of the UAA.

“Feels amazing,” Starwood said about picking up his first offer. “Like a million pounds were lifted off of my shoulders.” Following the offer, Starwood plans on taking his first official visit to Miami (OH) in June. While the RedHawks are his only offer right now, there are several other mid-major programs showing interest in him currently as his recruitment has continued to pick up in recent months.

“Two-way athletic playmaker. Someone who can score at will but is highly unselfish and locks down defensively,” he said to describe his own game. Starwood is one of the most explosive guards in the region who has continued to round out his offensive game. He is one of the top available 2024 guards in Illinois.
