Jake Broeske Starting to Appear On Colleges Radars

While plenty of players in Wisconsin’s deep 2026 class are getting attention, one that is flying a bit under the radar has been Jake Broeske until recently. The 6’9” power forward has started to really emerge in his sophomore season at Lomira High School. 

Twenty games deep into his sophomore season, he is leading his team in both scoring and rebounds to have them at a 12-8 record. Broeske is currently averaging a double-double with 14.6 points and 12.2 rebounds per game. While doing it very efficiently shooting 55.1% from the field and 42.5% from three. This is in addition to averaging 1 assist and 1.2 blocks. In his most recent game, he had a dominant state line of 29 points and 20 rebounds in a two-point win. 

“A true stretch four,” is how Broeske described his own game. “I can play inside the post and stretch it out to the three-point line and make shots. I also take pride in being a great rebounder and defensive player.” Some aspects of his game he is looking to improve upon include his slashing ability and post moves.

With his emergence, the sophomore has started to get himself on the radar of some division one programs. Both schools from the Horizon League and Missouri Valley Conference have started to show interest in the versatile sophomore forward. 

To finish off his sophomore season, Broeske is looking to help Lomira finish in the top three of the conference and make a big playoff run in addition to being selected first team all-conference. Following the high school season, he will be suiting up with Team Herro for the grassroots season.
