Minnesota Duluth has picked up another commitment for its 2026 recruitment class from Wisconsin. After landing a commitment from wing forward Calvin Anderson back at the end of July, they have now added a guard from Wisconsin.
This commitment came from Jacob Hibner, a 6’3” guard from Stoughton High School and Wisconsin Academy. The senior chose Minnesota Duluth over his other offers coming from Michigan Tech, Minnesota State Moorhead, Northern Michigan, Rockhurst, and Winona State. Minnesota Duluth had offered him back in July of last year.
“I have had a great relationship with the coaches for a long time and trust them a ton,” Hibner said about his selection on Minnesota Duluth. “My gut was also just telling me to go there.”
Hibner initially visited Duluth last year and did so again last month. “That’s when I realized they were already one of my top options and then I visited again in July and that’s just really helped boost my confidence in Duluth.”
For his future playing for Minnesota Duluth, Hibner sees his game fitting in well. “In a lot of ways offensively and defensively but I really see my toughness, effort, and IQ really being a difference maker.” In his junior season at Stoughton, the guard averaged 19.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3 assists in a 16-9 season where he earned honorable mention all-state honors from the WBCA.
