Iowa State Adds To 2025 Recruiting Class

It has been a few big days for Iowa State basketball on an off the court. As well to advancing to the Sweet 16 with a victory over Washington State on Saturday, they continued to get a head start on their 2025 recruiting class. 

Just a few days after receiving a commitment from 2025 guard Macari Moore of Ann Arbor Huron High School (MI), they landed another commitment for their 2025 recruiting class. The newest addition came from Xzavion Mitchell, a 6’7” wing forward of Oshkosh North High School (WI) and Team Herro. 

Mitchell was recently ranked third in the NY2LA class of 2025 rankings for Wisconsin. In his junior season, he averaged 25.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game. He was able to earn himself conference player of the year honors in the Fox Valley Association in addition to division one All-State honors by the WBCA. Prior to his junior campaign, last year on the EYBL he was one of the top players at the 16U level. He ranked top ten in scoring while averaging 18.9 points as well to being top fifteen in rebounding averaging 7.2 rebounds in addition to 2.1 assists. 

Over the past year, Mitchell was one of the top stock risers in the regions 2025 class. It took until last April for him to receive his firs offer coming from Cal Poly, and then until September for him to receive his first high major offer, coming from Wisconsin. His offer from Iowa State also came in September in addition to one from Northern Iowa.
