Energy, toughness, and length are just some of the many aspects Grant Manz can bring to a program at the next level. The 6’7” senior was one of the most impactful seniors this past season on the NY2LA Association during his time with the Wisconsin Swing.
During his junior season at Kiel High School, Manz averaged 12.2 points and 12.2 rebounds per game helping them to a 21-5 record. His game continued to progress with the Swing during the spring and summer with his impactful play on both ends of the floor. He continuously proved to be one of the top rebounders with his strength and energetic play but has also grown into being a versatile forward.
Right now Manz is receiving interest from schools at the division two, three, and NAIA levels. He recently took a visit to one of these schools going to Saint John’s University Minnesota. “Really good,” the senior said about his visit. “The coaches were super nice, their facility was amazing.” As well to this visit, Manz also has ones coming up to Clarke, St. Norbert’s, Wisconsin-La Crosse, Wisconsin-Platteville, and others.
For his future school, there is one main aspect that Manz is in search of. “Just a place that feels like home, no matter how far away it is from home. I will go as long it feels like an environment that feels comfortable to me.”
Before he makes the jump to the college level, there are still a few things he is looking to accomplish at the high school level. Manz wants to reach one thousand points and rebounds this season as well as win a conference and state title. As well he mentioned, “Try and help younger kids get ready for the next level and to be able to better myself as an athlete and a person.”
