Hayden Schroeder Is A Must See 2027 Prospect

Even before reaching the high school ranks, Hayden Schroeder was a standout as one of the top players on the GNBA. This has only continued to grow now into his two seasons at the high school level. Even with all the great talent in Illinois’ 2027 class, the 6’8” forward has established himself as one of the top players in it.

Not just one of the top players in his sophomore class, Schroeder has been one of the top players in the Chicagoland region this season. Currently for Wheaton Academy, he is averaging 21 points and 8 rebounds for Wheaton Academy. “Getting downhill and getting most of my points in the paint but also I get out to hit threes as much as I can,” Schroeder said when describing his own game. While he mentioned that he plays more as a forward for his high school team, he is looking to transition to more of a wing or guard at the grassroots level.

While not even having reached the halfway point of his high school career, Schroeder has already achieved a major milestone. In a game this week, he was able to already score his one thousandth point. The sophomore is not content with that mark as he now as his eyes set on the two-thousand-point mark. He was also able to earn all-conference honors while leading Wheaton Academy to an undefeated conference record and championship in the Chicagoland Christian Conference.

Even with all his accomplishments already and being one of the top players in his class, his recruitment has not caught up just being a sophomore. If Schroeder can continue this high level of player into the grassroots season with the Illinois Wolves, look for that to change.

Next up for Schroeder and Wheaton Academy is the Illinois state tournament. Their tournament will start on Wednesday as the number four seed in the Rochelle Sectional up against Marmion Academy.
