Girls Recruitment News – March 18th

While much of the focus over the past two weeks has been state championships, there are some major recruitment notes to know.

One of the biggest pieces of recruitment news recently was the commitment of Danielle Brooks. The junior guard of Kenwood Academy and Chicago Hoops Express will be staying in Chicago with her commitment to UIC.

In another major headline, Purdue lost a big piece of their 2025 recruitment class. This came as Kira Reynolds decided to upon up her recruitment from the Boilermakers. Before committing to Purdue back in October of 2023, the 6’4” senior forward had also been offered by Auburn, Kentucky, Ohio State, Marquette, Michigan State, Arkansas, among plenty of others.

Coco Urlacher was a major piece of leading Fremd all the way to the Illinois 4A state championship game and that is now showing in her recruitment. The Mac Irvin Fire senior has added offers from both Saint Mary’s SIUE. She is one of the top available seniors in the Midwest.

Another player from the Mac Irvin Fire making headlines was Jahliana Guy. While only a freshman, the guard has just made her commitment. The point guard out of Iowa has selected Stanford.

Northern Michigan was able to get start on their 2026 recruitment class with a commitment out of Wisconsin. This came from Taylor Gifford of Waukesha West and the Wisconsin Lakers.

Another commitment out of Wisconsin came from Adahlyn Hoerl. The senior of Chilton High School and the Purple Aces will be staying in-state to  UW-Oshkosh.

A commitment out of Indiana came from Ava Myers. The junior of Carroll High School and OPS will be headed to Bethel. They had recently offered her back in February.

From Lockport Township and Pink Elite, Laura Arstikaitis received an offer from Elmhurst University while on a visit to the nearby division three program.

Averie Zinn, a junior guard of Always 100 has added an offer from Davenport University.

Also from Always 100, freshman Nyomi Hahn of Marion High School has received an offer from Dayton.

Paulecia Isom, a senior of City Elite Basketball, has picked up an offer from an NAIA program in Goshen.
