Get To Know – 2029 Javeon Williams

While he is still a couple months shy of high school, Javeon Williams has already shown great ability on the hardwood. As just an eighth grader this spring, the guard was a standout playing all the way up at the 17U level with Capital City Teamwork.

“It was different from eight grade because of the pace and physicality in the games,” Williams said about playing up multiple levels. “I had to make better decisions quicker while also thinking slower so I didn’t get sped up. Once I got used to it, everything was good.” At the NY2LA Next Level Invitational back in May during the live period, he was able to average 16 points per game.

When asked to describe his game, Williams stated “I like to get downhill by shifting the defense. I am a three-level scorer who can mid-range and the three at any time.” As well to his scoring ability, the guard has shown a very advanced skill set. He is a poised guard who knows how to play along with good playmaking ability. Moving forward, Williams is looking to “improve on being more impactful overall to the rather than just offense. I want to expand my range consistently and overall, just work on everything.”

Now into summer, Williams is already making a name for himself at the varsity level with Sacred Heart Griffin. This weekend, Williams and Sacred Heart Griffin will be playing at the Romeoville Live Shootout.
