During his grassroots season with 24UP, 6’2” point guard Massimo Ruz consistently impressed with his unique skill set. He consistently proved he is one of the top playmaking point guards in Wisconsin’s 2027 class.
There are few players that can match his elite handle, burst of quickness, and shiftiness with the ball. Ruz also has a tremendous ability to create for others. All of his abilities were on display at the NY2LA Midwest Classic back in June, not just his distributing but also his scoring. During the tournament, he averaged 17.7 points and 5.3 assists. “My season with 24UP was great,” Ruz said. “I felt like I improved a lot both my coaches and teammates understood my game style which was helpful for me to develop it. The experience was really good, playing at Under Armour tournaments and also local ones in Wisconsin. I am excited about this next season, I will be playing for 24UP again.”
Originally from Spain, Ruz has been attending school in Wisconsin. Last season he played for DME Academy Wisconsin. He has now made the move to attend Pius XI High School which he has already called a great decision early on in this school year. After attending a prep school last year, he was looking to “fully get the American experience.”
While he has gotten some offers from some youth Euroleague teams, he is focused on attending a college in the states. “I know that the US is the place where I can develop the best, I’ve had that clear since I was a kid. I know that if I do that, my college ambitions will happen.”
