One of the bigger breakout sophomores in the greater Chicago area this season was Jordan Tunis of Schaumburg High School. Not only was he a captain as just a sophomore but also led his team in scoring for the season.
For his sophomore season, Tunis averaged 13.5 points, 3.6 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game. This led to the point guard being named an all-conference player in the Mid Suburban League this season.
“Tunis is a consummate harder worker and is a major part of the future success of our program,” said Jason Tucker, the head coach at Schaumburg High School. “He has grown so much over this first season that the sky is the limit for him. I fully expect him to be an all-area player next year and possibly all-state if he puts in the work and our record reflects it. He was a captain as a sophomore for us this season and he will continue to grow as our leader for 23-24 season. I have coached some good players in fourteen years as a head coach and Jordan has the ability to be the best and be a scholarship player.”
Tunis is a dynamic shot maker from the outside who hit just under 40% from three. He also has good quickness and handle to be able to create for himself and others off the dribble. He plays with plenty of energy and has good feel. The future for Tunis and Schaumburg may be bright as their top two scorers from this past season were only sophomores along with Javonte McCoy. With his sophomore season at Schaumburg High School complete, Tunis is playing with All In this spring.
