Generation Next Invitational – 14U Standouts Part 3

With all the talent at the 14U level a third group of standouts was necessary from the Generation Next Invitational. 

Tre Cliff – 2028 – G – Team 1848

Cliff is a high energy guard who is a quick playmaker. With his motor, Cliff rebounded very well for a guard outworking bigger opponents on the glass as well as chasing down rebounds. As well to using his quickness and energy to being a tough on-ball defender. Cliff also moves well with the ball in his hands with his good moves getting all the way to the basket often. 

Alex Grigorov – 2028 – G – ALL IN

The guard started the tournament in a big way Friday night while scoring 19 points in a game. He has good size in the backcourt as well to a smooth jumper. From three as well in the mid-range, Grigorov was hitting jumpers at a high percentage. More than a shooter, he also showed the ability to get all the way to the basket playing aggressive on the attack. 

Nick Grice – 2028 – SF – Ray Allen Select Bucks

Tournament after tournament, Grice continues to show more to his game to be one of the most impactful players on the GNBA helping his team to another successful tournament at 3-1. During the tournament he scored it both playing in the post as well as hitting threes in addition to going strong to the basket. He is also one of the more versatile defenders being able to match up with anyone on the floor with his physical tools, energy, and quickness. 

Layton Hamilton – 2028 – WG – Chapman Basketball North Elite

Hamilton is a tough wing guard who over the course of the tournament showed the ability to score it from all three levels. He is a gifted shot maker hitting pull up jumpers and step back shots. As well, he is an effective straight-line driver getting to the basket often who used his strength to finish well in traffic. 

Zach Lavoe – 2028 – F – 24Up

The 6’2” forward was one of a few key players for 24Up helping them go 3-1 during the tournament. Along with his size and solid build he was a standout on both sides of the ball. A very high energy defender who was all over making plays and being tough inside. Offensively, he scored it strong around the basket and paint powering his way right through defenders to score. 

Noah Tink – 2028 – G – M14 Hoops

Tink displayed great shot making ability in a 15-point performance in a win on Sunday. Whether it was pulling up in the mid-range, spotting up from three, or creating his own shot from the outside, Tink has a smooth jumper was knocking down his shots at a high percentage. He moves very well with the ball in his hands, is a good decision maker, and plays with plenty of confidence. 

TJ Togarepi – 2028 – PG – Peoria Pride

Whether he was scoring or distributing, Togarepi did it very effectively. He handles the ball well reading the floor getting plenty of paint touches and was always looking to get his teammates involved as a skilled passer on the move. In addition to his great play on the attack, Togarepi also showed his outside shooting ability hitting threes and defends the ball well.
