Game of Jack Bookter Continues To Trend Upwards

There were plenty of under the radar names making a name for themselves this past season on the NY2LA Platinum Elite, amongst them was Jack Bookter. The 5’11” senior was one of the more skilled guards while playing with Wisconsin Legends.

Bookter showed a wide range of skills to his game throughout the spring and summer. When asked about his play, he said “My game is all about making plays at the rim while also being able to stretch the floor and knock down shots from the outside. I take pride in being versatile — defending multiple positions, creating opportunities for my teammates, and doing whatever it takes to help the team win.”

After seeing action off the bench in his junior season for a very deep and talented De Pere High School team, it was a truly breakout grassroots season for Bookter. “My season with Wisconsin Legends went really well. We had a strong tournament run, and I was able to contribute consistently, averaging 16.5 points per game and 2.5 assists. It was a great experience to compete at a high level and improve my game,” Bookter said.

Bookter was a real key to the success of the Wisconsin Legends 17U team helping them to undefeated records in three of their five NY2LA tournaments. The guard truly got better throughout the entire spring and summer as his scoring averages improved through each of theses five tournaments. In July, he finished the season off with 17.8 points at the Final Chapter tournament and then 21.8 points at Summer Jam to be named a top performers of the tournament. At Summer Jam, he did this by hitting 3.5 threes per game while shooting 50% from deep. He also averaged 3.1 assists per game between these two tournaments.

While seeing some interest from a few division three programs, the recruitment of Bookter is still a bit limited for a player of his skills. He has already taken visits to Northwestern-St. Paul and UW-Superior.
