As he enters his sophomore year at Living Word Lutheran High School (WI), Jordan Evans has received his first scholarship offer. The offer for the 6’3” guard of the Power 5 program came from Bethune-Cookman University. With Power 5 on the 3SSB, he averaged 17.8 points per game.
“It was unexpected, but it felt great,” Evans said about picking up his first offer form the division one program. “I’ve been working my whole life to reach this goal, I feel very blessed and grateful.” When asked if there is anything he likes about Bethune-Cookman, he said “It’s pretty cool that Coach (Reggie) Theus played in the NBA. I’m so excited to build a relationship with the entire coaching staff and learn more about the university.”
While Bethune-Cookman is his first offer, Evans has continued to generate greater interest from several other division one programs. Amongst these are Bradley, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Northern Illinois, South Dakota, and Western Illinois.
He has already proven to be one of the top players in Wisconsin’s 2028 class. In his freshman season, he led Living Word Lutheran in scoring with 15.8 points per game. This was in addition to 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in a 16-9 season. For his upcoming sophomore season Evans said, “We have big shoes to fill losing four great seniors, but I have so much confidence in Coach Holton and my teammates that my goal will always be to win a state championship.”
