After a visit over the weekend to Northern Michigan University, Isaiah Allen picked up his first scholarship offer. The offer for the 6’4” versatile junior guard comes after a breakout grassroots season with Chapman Basketball Academy.
When talking about receiving the offer, Allen said “It feels great, motivational, and a dream come true to get my first offer.”
Allen took a visit to the upper peninsula campus along with his CBA teammates Nolan Minessale and Michael McNabb, who were also offered on the trip. “It was great,” Allen said about his visit. Adding in, “I loved the facility and the culture up there.” There are some elements of Northern Michigan that he already likes including their updated basketball facility and knowing some of their players.
“I would say I’m a player that a coach can ask to do anything. I can shoot, dribble, drive, rebound, pass, and get a stop,” Allen said to describe his own game. “I’m a bad matchup as my coaches say with being 6’4”, 190 (pounds) where I’m too big and strong for small guards and too fast for big guys.” For his upcoming junior season at Milwaukee Lutheran High School, Allen has several goals including winning conference player of the year, expanding his interest and offers, and winning a state championship.
