Devin Brown Breaks Down Commitment

Coastal Carolina landed a major commitment for their 2025 recruiting class on Saturday. This came via Devin Brown, a 6’7” senior forward who is a native of Wisconsin and now attends PHH Prep and played with Power 5.

Brown picked Coastal Carolina out of his six-finalist beating out Arkansas State, Arizona State, Grambling State, Mississippi State, and Nevada. He had also previously received offers from Bradley, Detroit Mercy, Louisiana Tech, Milwaukee, Western Illinois, among others.

“The main reason I committed was just the role they provided,” Brown said about why he picked Coastal Carolina. “We talked about how I can be utilized at the point forward position and how they would include me in the offense, defense. Another thing is ever since they offered me, they were on me heavy, I have a good relationship with every coach there and I feel like Coastal is the best spot for me to develop my game to be a pro.”

The commitment comes after Brown took a visit to Coastal Carolina at the end of August on the 23-25. “The visit was great the moment I stepped on campus if felt like home the players welcomed me in as well as the coaches of course. I almost wanted to commit on the spot.”

On his future playing for the Sun Belt Conference program, Brown said “I see my game fitting in well. On my visit we had an offensive presentation, where they showed me how they would utilize me and where I would fit in the offense, and then we had a defensive meeting that went along the lines of the offensive one as well. They run most of their action through the four spot, which is what I’ll be playing when I get there.”
