Alabama and head coach Nate Oats landed a commitment from one of the top available 2025 players in the nation over the weekend. This came via a commitment from Davion Hannah, a 6’5” guard. Hannah played with Team Herro this summer on the EYBL.
Alabama was able to beat out the other finalist of Cincinnati, Missouri, and Ohio State. Hannah had just announced his final four schools a few weeks ago in the end of October. Alabama had offered him back in May. Some of the other programs to have previously offered him included Iowa, Louisville, Marquette, Michigan State, Oregon, USC, Wake Forest, and Wisconsin.
Hannah is ranked as high as 22nd in the 2025 national rankings by ESPN. He is also ranked 33rd by Rivals and 37th by 247 Sports. Before making the move to Link Academy for his senior season, Hannah was ranked 1st in NY2LA’s Wisconsin 2025 rankings. Before making the move to Link Academy, the Wisconsin native attended Nicolet High School. In his junior season, he averaged 19.4 points and 8.4 rebounds to earn all-state honors.
Alabama is landing one of the most skilled scorers in the nation with great shot making ability who also has a great blend of positional size and athleticism. Hannah marks the third commitment in Alabama’s 2025 recruiting class that now ranks in the top ten nationally. They also have another Wisconsin native committed with Amari Allen in addition to London Jemison.
