David Herron III Breaks Down Lake Superior State Commitment

Another 2025 player from the Michigan Playmakers has made their commitment to a division two school. First was John Simpson, next was Joshua Gibson, and now most recently was David Herron III.

On Monday, the 6’3” senior guard of University of Detroit Jesuit announced his commitment to Lake Superior State. The commitment comes after Herron was offered by them last month. He had also been recruited by Adrian College, Central State, Davenport, Delaware State, Heidelberg, Wayne State, among others.

It was last month that Herron also took his official visit to Lake Superior State. “It was a good chance for me to come see what the campus was all about,” Herron said about his visit on January 11-12.

“I like the way everyone on the team is bonded together and it seems like a brotherhood and everyone plays for each other,” Herron said on why he chose Lake Superior State over his other suitors. For his future playing there, he said “I can see my shooting ability fitting in well with them along with the way they move the ball and energy they play with as a team.”
