Dane Caldwell Getting on Division One Radars

Following a breakout grassroots season, Dane Caldwell is starting to appear on college coaches’ radars. The 6’8” 2026 wing forward of Silver Creek High School (IN) has taken visits to a pair of division one schools this fall already.

The first of the visits was to Miami (OH) back on September 28th. “I thought that everything about it was awesome. The coaches were nice, and all the players were chill. The university was also super nice,” Caldwell said about his visit to the MAC school.

Then during the following weekend, Caldwell visited Eastern Illinois. Regarding that visit, he said “One of Silver Creeks players goes there, Kooper Jacobi. Since we were both from Silver Creek, we talk about that and how he was liking the school. They also had a really nice campus.”

“I would describe my game as being able to get to the rim and also being able to shoot. More of a wing forward rather than a normal five,” Caldwell said regarding his own game. In addition to standing at 6’8”, he is a fluid athlete with growing perimeter skills. He shined back during the summer at the NY2LA Final Chapter as one of the top 2026 forwards in attendance. With all of his tools, look for his recruitment to only grow.
