Over the weekend, junior Cooper Knowles took his first collegiate visit. The 6’9” power forward of West Hancock basketball made the trip to Illinois State. On the visit, he watched the Redbirds win over St. Louis University on Sunday.
“Great,” is how Knowles described the visit to Illinois State. “I liked how the coaches engaged with me and my family right after the game and also the players were able to talk to me in the locker room after.”
The recruitment of the emerging Knowles is just starting to get moving as of late with this visit. As well to Illinois State, a couple of the other programs who have been showing the most interest in him include Missouri S&T and Quincy University.
Right now, in his junior season for West Hancock, Knowles is averaging 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks per game. The long and athletic big man highlighted a couple of aspects of his game when asked to describe it. “The part that stands out about my game the most is probably my shot blocking and touch around the rim.”
Following his high school season, Knowles will be suiting up for MidPro Academy in the grassroots season.
