Central Michigan has landed one of the top available big men in Illinois’ 2025 class. This came from 6’9” Kobe Walker of Normal Community High School and MidPro Academy.
The commitment came after the senior center took his official visit to Central Michigan recently on September 19-21. “I had a great time out there it was different from Illinois and I had never been to Michigan before, and I liked the facilities,” Walker said about his visit to the Mount Pleasant campus.
There were multiple things Walker liked about the MAC program that came into play in his decision on choosing Central Michigan. “I liked the campus feel it’s a nice collage town, also the players getting to play and hangout with them was fun it’s all positive vibes, Also the coaching staff had amazing things to say about me and my family.”
Central Michigan had just offered Walker back at the end of August. He chose them over his other offers coming from Bryant, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Illinois, IU-Indianapolis, Loyola (MD), SIUE, and Western Illinois.
For his future playing for Central Michigan, Walker said “With my offensive game they feed there bigs a lot on pick and rolls and they pick and pop letting their bigs shoot threes and I think they can also develop me into the player I want to be.”
