Cade Dirkse Talks First Offer

Following yet another standout season with Chapman North Basketball, Cade Dirkse has received his first division two offer. The 6’2” senior was one of the top point guards this past season on the NY2LA Platinum Elite. Prior to that in his junior season at Oostburg High School (WI), he won conference player of the year while averaging 22.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 2.7 steals in a 20-7 season.

The standout season for Dirkse started right from the start of the spring back at the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish. There he scored 23 points in a game to defeat Team Herro EYBL. Then during the May live period at the NY2LA Next Level Invitational, Dirkse and Chapman North went undefeated.

The offer for Dirkse came from Hillsdale College. “It feels super good to pick up my first offer. Seeing work payoff is one of the most rewarding things. Super blessed and thankful for the opportunity,” he said about picking up his first offer.

When asked about his visit to Hillsdale and what he likes about them, Dirkse stated “I was super impressed with their academics and their campus. Their coaching staff is all about what I’m all about. Their core values and visions are aligned with mine and we are very likeminded in that sense. Hillsdale is very unique and not like a whole lot of other schools. It’s an amazing opportunity to have the chance to be a part of what they have going on there.”

“Things are still picking up for me in the end of July. Multiple division two schools are reaching out as well as a couple division ones,” Dirkse had to say about his growing recruitment. In addition to Hillsdale, he has also recently visited UW-La Crosse. He will also be visiting Green Bay and UW-Oshkosh in the coming weeks and is currently planning additional visits.
