It has been a big year on the hardwood for 2026 Cade Dirkse. Starting with Oostburg High School and then with Chapman North Basketball Academy.
In his sophomore season at Oostburg, the 6’2” point guard averaged 19 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 2.4 steals in a 17-8 season. The breakout season continued throughout the spring and summer where he formed a tremendous backcourt duo witth Kayden Schultz for Chapman North. At the NY2LA Final Chapter Tournament back in July, Dirkse was one of the top 2026 players in attendance leading his team to a 3-1 record. “The season for Chapman North was really good for us…For me personally I grew a lot in my game taking shots in the midrange and off the dribble that I wouldn’t have shot my sophomore year,” Dirkse said.
“Some of my biggest strengths are on ball defending, the ability to lead a team, and facilitating an offense,” Dirkse first said when describing his own game. “As I progress as a player, my ability to knock down shots and play in iso getting better. I would like to grow in the areas of being a bigger threat scoring in the midrange and increasing my range.” In his upcoming junior season, he is looking to see growth in his game and make the players around him better. As well, his goals include winning conference, score his one thousand point, and make a run in the playoffs.
With the growth of his game, Dirkse has started to appear on the radars of some college programs. Over the past few months, several division two programs have begun showing interest in him.
