Brooks Hinson Joins Northern Michigan’s 2025 Recruiting Class

On Sunday, Brooks Hinson announced his college commitment. The 6’3” senior point guard of Marshfield High School and the Wisconsin Playmakers chose Northern Michigan University. In his junior season, he was named conference player of the year as well as first team all-state.

“I love the coaches, facilities, and campus. I can see myself fitting in really well with their style of play and the vibe around campus,” Hinson said about choosing the division two program. Northern Michigan had initially offered him back in June of last year. Hinson had also been offered by Winona State.

The commitment comes after Hinson visited the school on Michigan’s upper peninsula a few weeks ago. “It was amazing,” he said about the visit. “Loved everything about it, and it felt like home. Everyone was super welcoming, and it felt like home!”

For his future playing at Northern Michigan, Hinson said he sees his game fitting in really well. “I want to win and I believe this is the best place for me to do that, no matter my role, I just want to help the team win!” He is joining a strong 2025 recruiting class for Northern Michigan that also already includes power forward Ross Robertson, point guard Nathan Fife, wing Pryce Gregoire, two guard Keller Hanson, and wing Drew Murphy.
