Throughout both the NY2LA Summer Jam and then the Final Chapter, 2025 Dominque Murphy emerged as one of the top players of the July tournaments while playing with Darius Garland Elite.
“Good summer with Darius Garland Elite, great memories.” Murphy said on the summer season. While the 6’5” wing had multiple standout performances over the course of the two tournaments, it was his final game of the tournaments where he truly shined. In a comeback victory, Murphy was dominant down the stretch. The senior scored 14 second half points in the successful comeback. He played very effective on the attack utilizing his college ready body. As well, he is a highly impactful wing with his size, length, tough defensive play, and well-rounded offensive skill set.
With all his college ready tools, Murphy has drawn plenty of college interest including a couple of division one offers for himself. Both Ball State and Central Michigan extended scholarship offers to the senior this summer. Some of the other schools recruiting him include Georgia State, Southern Illinois, UIC, Valparaiso, among others.
To date, Murphy has taken visits to both of the schools who have offered him. Up next for him before his senior season at East Chicago Central High School (IN) is a visit to nearby Valparaiso.
